• Capsules – Capsules are commonly compounded in cases where alternate strengths are required or in an effort to avoid potential irritants or allergens such as gluten, dyes, and preservatives.  Custom Care Compounding can compound medications into sustained-released formulas and can often combine multiple medications into a single dosage.
  • Gels and Creams – Transdermal gels serve as an alternative to giving medications orally.  A small amount of gel or cream containing the medication is rubbed onto the skin of either humans or animals.  These medications are often prescribed for pain management, inflammation, nausea/vomiting, chronic illness, and bio-idential hormone replacement therapy.  Topical or transdermal preparations are easy to use and are effective at delivering the medication directly to the affected site.
  • Troches – Troches are a type of lozenge that is placed between the cheek and gum until they dissolve.  This allows the medication to enter the bloodstream quickly and easily.  Troches can be flavored to the patients desire.  Common flavors include raspberry, watermelon, strawberry in concentrate form, and we even have natural oils like tangerine or peppermint.
  • Suppositories – Ideal for patients who can not take medications orally.  Suppositories are commonly used to treat local conditions such as hemorrhoids, infections, and inflammations.  They can also be used to fight nausea and for bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.  Suppositories can be administered rectally, vaginally, and urethrally.
  • Liquids – Many medications can be compounded as oral liquids for those who have difficulty swallowing tablets or capsules . Our patients may have problems tolerating taste of commercially available liquid medications, but our pharmacy can customize flavors to what our patients desire.  We even do beef, chicken, liver, banana and other flavorings for your pets and animals.
